Last week I had the privilege of interviewing the lovely & insanely talented Emilie Autumn. She promised an insanely fun performance at Slim’s in San Francisco and she didn’t lie.
Decked out in in a corset, tights and a mohawk, Emilie kicked off her unique concoction of classical/electronic burlesque-cabaret with the spooky 4 O’Clock making for a great set up for the rest of the night. The twisted beauty of the melodies wound tightly around her both soft and gritty voice and said much for what we had in store.
Like a Cirque du Soleil show on speed, the tempo changed, and Emilie broke out into her anthem Fight Like a Girl (also the name of her upcoming album). I could say more, but you really should see spectacle of sugar & spice for yourself!
